Abstract
We present a case study of developing an e-Repository of the Theses and Dissertations (T&D) in Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IITR). It will give a brief introduction of the issues which had been considered while setting up an ETD repository such as, digitization process, standards and parameters used in scanning, formats used, indexing of scanned data, in-house v/s outsourcing, software selection, hardware requirements, storage, metadata creation, content management, IPR policy, accessibility and management of electronic content, quality of digital contents, cost analysis etc. This paper also highlights the challenges and opportunity before the library professionals to set up ETD repository using open source software.
