Abstract
Literature plays a crucial role in moulding the mind and personality of a child. It gives the child the kind of exposure which he/ she would otherwise perhaps not get. It broadens his horizons by making him aware of other past/ contemporary trends or situations. It also brings laughter and excitement on his life. Hence, a child should make a conscious effort to supplement his reading of prescribed text- books with the varied literature that is available for children of all ages.
