Abstract
This article discusses in detail the significance of preserving and managing the indigenous knowledge in field of information management, which has been historically minimized in our libraries. The study is limited to the preservation, management and awareness of the indigenous knowledge by different library professionals from Mizoram as well as some of the most prominent citizens of Mizoram. It is mainly due to the progressing digital age that librarians in the present era have far more opportunities than ever before to work with home-grown people to conserve and share their cultural history. Farther than the geographic boundaries, digital repositories, internet archives, and cutting-edge technology are in a comfort zone to offer greater access to the indigenous knowledge. The creation of collections, intellectual property rights, access, and preservation medium are obstacles to the administration and preservation of indigenous knowledge.
