Abstract The study examines job satisfaction and organizational commitment of academic librarians in Nigerian Universities. Stratified random technique was used to select eighty academic librarians from seven universities in the country. Questionnaires were used as the main instrument for gathering of data. The finding revealed that majority of the academic librarians were satisfied with their jobs, that attractive salary and wages were the major factors that influence job satisfaction and also that age is the major determinant of organization commitment. Recommendation was made which include the need for library management to provide good working environment for academic librarians and also the need for special salary and wages for them in all the universities in the country.
