Abstract The circulation services are discussed in this paper in detail with the help of the data collected through two different sets of questionnaires administered to librarians as well as users and also information collected from annual reports and through personal visits to all the university libraries of Karnataka State. It is important for the circulation services to know the views of both the receivers and the providers of services – namely the users and the librarians. Based on the findings, the paper puts forward some implied suggestions to improve the overall quality of library and information services in general and circulation services in particular. The study helps the librarians to understand the users’ opinion towards performance of the circulation services. In addition they also present to them the better side of the library.
